About Lauren Elizabeth
My love of drawing animals began at an early age, but started to take shape in 2004 when I started photographing animals at the local shelter. I also started raising show rabbits and making logos for the rabbit community, which expanded into making logos for farmers, groomers, and other animal businesses. These designs helped support me as I began art school and moved from Michigan to San Francisco.
In 2011 I created Ruffles Art Studio which launched my professional career as pet photographer. I continued to refine my design skills and style while studying at the California College of the Arts. During school, my work focused mostly on pet portraits with the occasional graphic design client. By the time I finished school, my work was almost entirely graphic design! People with animal-related businesses and nonprofits saw my work and hired me to help them brand and market their business. I found purpose in helping others grow their businesses through design.
I loved it so much that I closed my pet photography studio in 2016 and started a new business with design as its primary focus. Conkberry was named after my late rabbit Conkers, who loved to aggressively eat berries. I find so much joy in connecting with people all over the world through my work.
I'm always looking for new ways to expand and grow as a business and an artist. Thank you for being a part of it!
